I knew Lucas since we attended school together at Mooroolbark East Primary School right throughout high school at MHSC. If you look through some of the school photos I am in there somewhere. 1st off please forgive me I had heard of this tragedy only a few months ago as I have not kept in great touch with people from High School. I would like to send you my deepest condolences for your loss, Lucas was a great friend. Although I was never really extremely close to Lucas, we were always friends. Lucas always treated me with respect when others didn't. To give you an example Lucas and I were co-runners for College Captain at MHSC, at the time Lucas did not know I was going for it as well as he was. When he found out he kindly dropped out of the race knowing how much it meant to me, I will never forget that. I remember all of the times out on the sports field, drama class, class in general when he could make me laugh even when I was down (which was quite often) I knew I could always rely on the fact that Lucas would listen to what I would have to say. I can honestly say I miss Lucas very much now that I know about this, It would have been great to catch up with him at reunions and such but unfortunately I will never get that chance. I would like to however, as I have not paid my last respects, visit a site locally around Mooroolbark, if there is one, so I can pay my last respects. I would also like to ask if I can have permission from his family to wear a Black Arm Band at my next Martial Arts Grading out of respect for my friend. Kind Regards, Luke's Mother replied and, of course, said she was very pleased that Rowan wore his black arm band. She also offered a welcomed for Rowan to contact her any time he chose. |
