Skiing..trying to perfect the 360 mid air knee board trick
- showing off for the girls as usual.
the Lucas factor struck...
resulting in your left arm almost popped out of its socket
and pulled through the handle of the rope..
you survived with your arm out of action for 2 weeks...
cooking with one arm at the roadhouse a real challenge for everyone.
Reversing the boat trailer to load the boat is normally a 1 minute job
turned into 20 minutes..the Lucas factor!!
I decided maybe you should put the boat on the trailer and I reverse the trailer..
but that didn't work either and I had to take over as was usual in our adventures together.
You always tried to do whatever I did just like a little brother ...
We bought a canoe and another great idea of yours was to paddle
from Evandale to Perth
in winter through the rapids with a 6 foot drop at the end..
we spent more time in the water than the boat
because you had no idea how to paddle through rapids..
A planned 1 hour of fun turned into about 6 hours
once again the Lucas factor took hold...
Cars were always a challenge for you.
Penelope Pintara was the first..
she moved on due to neglect and hardwork..
The SAAB..it was a bargain so you said.
a turbo with 250,000 kms on the clock, this bargain lasted 3 months...
no bonding occurred here
so an early demise was hardly noticed by you and welcomed by me
'Polly' the Honda moved quickly into position
and just kept driving down that highway to The Forest ...
Work was always an excitement
especially when the customers started to line up...
Lucas took on the character of Bob so much
I thought you were his son as well..
Scotty to the rescue again..
Lucas.always the man with business ideas...
buy Laundromats and turn them into coffee shops
people could buy coffee and food while watching the clothes washing.
Another.. buy a double decker bus and turn it into a 'booze bus' night club...
Kids were a constant form of entertainment and fun for you and them..
Kearna and Brayden, the Hanson boys and others always wanted Lucas to baby-sit them..
Brayden issued a personal invitation for you to attend his sleepover 8 th birthday party...
We want Lucas..a common request from the kids...
You could always be found in our front or back yard
kickin the footy, playing cricket or shooting netball hoops with Kearna..
You had a soft spot for kids, animals and girls never able to say no...
Despite all the 'Lucas' adventures and mis-adventures
this is what made you my best mate and brother ..
we played together, worked together, laughed together and cried together.
Any problem for me or you we were always there for each other.
Saturday mornings were always a 4am pick up at my
house then drive to Epping Forest together planning the
Saturday afternoon adventures or our next one...
You had a reputation of sometimes sleeping in on a Saturday
and dad would say "Lucas needs to step up"...
why didn't you sleep in this time
even 5 minutes would have been enough..
