The six o'clock mass ensured the church was full of people. Perfect for one young Luke Butzin who was planning to be baptized.

At the appropriate time, Luke, fully equipped with a burning candle, was asked to line up ready for the baptism.

The priest kept saying "Hold on there Bluey" because Luke was so excited, he kept edging closer and closer to the woman in front of him. In fact, several times, he got so close he almost set her dress alight with the candle.

Eventually it became Luke's big moment. The priest asked Luke why he wanted to be baptized and Luke quickly came back with the reply....

"If my Mum is going to go to heaven, so am I".

And so, on 4th September 1988, Luke became baptized.
